The 6-foot-4, 215 pound Wallace verbally committed to Notre Dame on Oct. 12, 2014. The River Ridge, La., native also held scholarship offers from Arizona State, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas and UCLA, among other programs.

Wallace is the second player to announce he won't play for Notre Dame on Thursday, following quarterback Everett Golson's decision to transfer. Prior to Thursday, Notre Dame appeared in line to enter the summer with 88 scholarship players, three over the NCAA's maximum allotment. With Golson and Wallace out, the Irish only need one more departure to get under the limit.
