School: Hinsdale South

Head coach: Mike Barry

Assistant Coaches: Nate Wolkow, Dave Isaacson, Jarrod Amolsch, Bobby O'Brien, Kraig Conyer, Dan Daly, Dean Norman, Mike Moretti, Matt King, Mike Lacassa

How they fared in 2015: 9-4 (5-1) West Suburban Gold Conference. Hinsdale South made the 6A state playoffs and defeated Thornton, Oak Forest and Lincoln-Way North before losing to Crete-Monee in the 6A state semifinal round.

Biggest storyline in 2016: Can the Hornets continue to be a state power in Class 6A this coming season?

Names to watch this season: LB Deontae Curry, DL Aaron Woods

Biggest holes to fill: The Hornets this past spring graduated several key starters from the 2015 squad and return just seven starters (three offense, four defense) in 2016.

EDGY's Early Take: Hinsdale South has been on quite a roll over the past two seasons and the overall talent level and numbers remains strong. Several new faces will need to step up this season yet this team I feel will be one of the favorites in the WSC Gold race and secure a state playoff spot. Transfer junior QB Justin Kolzow (Oswego East) is another name to watch.
