School: Johnsburg Skyhawks

Head coach: Dan DeBoeuf

Assistant coaches: Sam Lesniak, Sean Stochl, Namon Johnson, Craig Sincora, Tim Lenckus, John Ridley, Wally Warner

How they fared in 2015: 8-3 (5-2) Big Northern East. The Skyhawks made the Class 4A state playoff field. Johnsburg defeated Pontiac, then lost to eventual state champion Phillips in the second round.

Biggest storyline in 2016: Can the Skyhawks find more success in the new Kishwaukee River Conference?

Names to watch this season: RB Alex Peete, OL/DL Joe Moore

Biggest holes to fill: There aren't many holes to fill, at least from a starting lineup standpoint, as the Skyhawks welcome back 18 returning starters (nine offense/nine defense) this fall. Depth is always needed and welcomed at any 4A-sized school and that includes Johnsburg.

EDGY's early take: The Skyhawks have all the makings of a very good team to watch in 4A as they enter the new Kishwaukee River conference, along with several fellow Big Northern foes and the Woodstock schools. Can Johnsburg get past Phillips in 4A, considering the defending state champions have sent the Skyhawks home the last two years?
