No. 3 Glenbard West Hilltoppers

2014 record: 12-1 (6-0) finished first in the West Suburban Silver Conference. The Hilltoppers beat Fremd, Palatine and Barrington before losing to Stevenson in the Class 8A semifinals.

Why did the Hilltoppers make the @CSNPreps Power Rankings? Glenbard West returns 11 starters, including four on the offensive line.

Areas of concern heading into the 2015 season? Can the Hilltoppers reload on defense with just four starters back from last year's team. Can the Hilltoppers play-action passing game take pressure off of the running attack?

It will be a good season if: Glenbard West is able to pound opposing teams with its running game, and the defense plays at its usual high level.

Headliners? Senior running back Sam Brodner (Vanderbilt) and senior outside linebacker Ross Andreasik.

Biggest game of 2015? Oct. 3 vs. Hinsdale Central. This game could shape up to have conference and state playoff implications.

Did you know? Head coach Chad Hetlet has won a minimum of 10 games in each season (excluding his first year in 2007) during in his tenure at Glenbard West.
