Getting to know St. Joseph senior center Nick Rakocevic

St. Joseph senior center Nick Rakocevic is one of the players to watch this season in the Player of the Year race as he's helped the Chargers to a 6-0 start.

Through six games this season, No. 7 St. Joseph has seen five double-doubles from the unsigned senior as Rakocevic is averaging 21.8 points and 15.3 rebounds per game. Already earning MVP honors at St. Charles East over Thanksgiving the first week of the season, Rakocevic has been great against ranked teams like De La Salle and Downers South as he's looking to go out with back-to-back state championships.

Rakocevic was the starting center for St. Joseph last season when they won a Class 3A state championship as he earned CSN All-Area Third-Team honors.

A force on the interior at the high school level, Rakocevic has been putting up steady numbers against good teams since his sophomore season and he's a big reason why the Chargers are once again a competitor for a state championship this season.
