As expected, Lake Park three-star ranked defensive end Jacub Panasiuk (6-foot-4, 260 pounds) announced his verbal commitment to Michigan State in front of a large group of family, friends and supporters at Lake Park High School.

'I'm just blessed to be in this situation today," Panasiuk said. "And I would like to announce my decision to play for Michigan State."

Panasiuk, who joins his older brother Mike (a four-star ranked defensive tackle who signed with the Spartans in the Class of 2016) admitted that Michigan State was the team to beat.

"I thought from the beginning that I didn't want to go to Michigan State because I wanted to be different and didn't want to go there because my brother was heading there," Jacub said. "I really wanted to make my own path, but in the end Michigan State is the perfect fit or me. Later on, I realized that I was gonna end up going to Michigan State."

Also, having someone in the same house recruiting you for Michigan State was another big plus for the Spartans in landing the younger Panasiuk.

"Having someone recruiting you that sleeps one bedroom door down from you is a pretty big deal," Jacub said. "It was a big advantage for Michigan State and it also works out well for my family and especially my parents."

Panasiuk joins Maine South four-star ranked offensive guard Kevin Jarvis (6-foot-5, 320 pounds) as verbal commitment in the Michigan State Class of 2017.
