Oswego East

2017-18 record: 20-8, 11-3 (Southwest Prairie)

Postseason results: Lost to Joliet Central in Class 4A regional finals.

Players to watch: Senior guard RayJ Dennis is one of the area's premier talents as the Boise State commit is a preseason All-Area candidate after averaging 17.2 points and 4.9 assists per game last season. Junior forward Sam Schultz flashed potential as a sophomore last season as his game grew over the summer. Senior Kamron Battle, a 6-foot-6 forward who is the son of former Illinois star Kenny Battle, also returns after a solid junior season.

Why they're in the power rankings: The trio of Dennis, Battle and Schultz should make Oswego East the favorites in the Southwest Prairie as the Wolves have plenty of offensive firepower. As long as Oswego East is able to grow on the defensive end, they have the weapons to compete with most teams in the area this season.

Did you know? Oswego East has improved its schedule this season as they'll join the Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic while also playing in the prestigious Batavia Night of Hoops.
