Quincy junior four-star ranked running back Jirehl Brock (6-foot-0, 200 pounds) earlier this week narrowed down his Top 7 schools list to a Top 5.

Brock on his Twitter account released a video naming Iowa, Iowa State, Northwestern, Purdue and Minnesota as his Top 5 schools and discussed his next step in his decision making process.

"I'm going to take some spring official visits," he said. "I'm going to visit Northwestern this weekend for an official visit. I'm in the process of starting to set up some other visits now and will spend this week trying to line up a few dates. I'm still looking at this summer and I'm definitely planning to make my decision in either late June or early July."

Batavia three-star ranked outside linebacker Michael Jansey Jr. (6-foot-2, 210 pounds) has also narrowed down his favorite schools to a Top 3 list and is getting closer to making his college decision.

"My Top 3 schools in no order includes Iowa State, West Virginia and Missouri," Jansey Jr. said. "I still need to get out and make some visits soon. I'm looking at visiting Purdue, Missouri and maybe Michigan State. Purdue and Michigan State have really started to pick things up lately. Purdue seems to be close to offering me a scholarship and Michigan State wants me to come and camp with them this summer."

So when will Jansey Jr make a decision?

"I'm looking at making my decision once the school year ends and before we report for our team camp," he said. "We start team practice the second week in June."

Another standout from Batavia is three-star ranked inside linebacker Luke Weerts (6-foot-2, 230 pounds) and Weerts also named his Top 3 schools list earlier this week.

"My Top 3 schools list includes Kansas State, North Dakota State and Cincinnati," Weertz said. "I definitely have been working a lot harder at sorting out schools. My Dad and I created a spreadsheet that list schools along with different categories. One side of the spreadsheet are academics and the other side is athletics and I weight the strengths of each school all broken down. I'm looking at factors such as the overall community support of the football program, the overall environment and several other factors."

While it might appear on the surface that North Dakota State, the only FCS school in Weerts Top 3 could be at a disadvantage in his decision making process do not count of the multiple FCS champion Bison.

"North Dakota State football is a big deal," per Weerts. "They sell out the Fargodome for every game. North Dakota State might not be the size of the other two schools but they still have a lot to offer. North Dakota State reminds me a lot of Batavia and like our school football means something to everyone around North Dakota State."

St. Charles East sophomore offensive guard Dylan Barrett (6-foot-5, 285 pounds) has seen his overall recruiting stock take off this spring. Barrett, who is now holding six Power 5 offers, has continued to draw recruiting attention and in school college coach visits nearly on an every day basis during the ongoing spring evaluation period.

"I'm beyond blessed," Barrett said in regards to his successful spring recruiting process. "It's been just very exciting and as a sophomore and I never knew that my recruiting would play out like this."

Barrett, who holds offer from Illinois, Boston College, Duke, Cincinnati, NIU and Western Michigan, is also drawing summer camp invites from several Midwest powers.

"I'm already set to go to a handful of college camps this summer," he said. "I'm going to camp at Wisconsin on June 1st, Iowa on June 3rd and Notre Dame on June 23rd. I might add one or two more college camps but I'm just not sure yet who else I'll camp with just yet."
