25. Marist (25-3, 8-1) (NR)
The East Suburban Catholic champions are an intriguing No. 5 seed in the Thornwood Sectional in Class 4A as the RedHawks open with either T.F. South or Argo before a potential regional final against No. 17 T.F. North.
24. Bloom (20-6, 10-0) (NR)
The Blazin' Trojans are peaking at the right time as they've won seven straight games and haven't lost in a month. With recent wins over Thornton and Crete-Monee this is a dangerous team in the Class 4A Thornwood Sectional. Bloom opens as the No. 6 seed against either Thornwood or Washington before a potential matchup with No. 18 Thornton for a regional title at Richards.
23. Naperville North (21-5, 13-3) (20)
Closing the regular season with a close loss to No. 9 Wheaton-Warrenville South, Naperville North is hoping to make a run in the Class 4A Hinsdale Central Sectional. Naperville North opens with either Batavia or Metea Valley before potentially facing Willowbrook for a regional title.
22. Oak Park-River Forest (21-6, 11-1) (24)
Capturing the West Suburban Conference crown was the Huskies as they are rolling into the Class 4A Proviso East Sectional as a hot team. The No. 4 seed Huskies open with either Prosser or Fenton before they could match up against St. Patrick for a regional championship at Fenton.
21. Geneva (27-2, 11-1) (23)
After the two straight losses, the Vikings came back with a win over Elgin to finish the regular season. Geneva is the No. 2 seed in the Class 4A Hinsdale Central Sectional as they begin the playoffs against either Lyons or Glenbard North. The Vikings could play either Downers North or Hinsdale South for a regional title at Downers North next Friday.
20. Jacobs (26-1, 15-1) (22)
The Fox Valley champions have a solid draw as the No. 1 seed in their own Class 4A regional. The Golden Eagles open with either Crystal Lake South or Streamwood before potentially playing St. Charles North or Crystal Lake Central for a regional title. Senior big man Conrad Krutwig gives Jacobs a huge advantage on the interior in this regional.
19. Notre Dame (23-5, 7-2) (19)
Notre Dame has ended the season on a positive stretch as they are the No. 2 seed in the Class 4A Waukegan Sectional. The Dons face either Libertyville or Glenbrook North to open the Libertyville Regional. If they advance, Notre Dame might play Niles North for a regional title.
18. Thornton (20-5, 12-0) (18)
The Wildcats closed the season with a win over Thornridge as they open the Class 4A Thornwood Sectional with either Richards or Kennedy. Thornton could play No. 24 Bloom, a team they lost to within the last few weeks, for the regional title at Richards next Friday if both teams advance. This is the time for senior Alonzo Verge to shine.
17. T.F. North (22-3, 13-0) (17)
One of the hottest teams entering the Class 4A playoffs will be the Meteors as they've won 13 consecutive games and haven't lost in 2017. T.F. North opens the Thornwood Sectional with either Hubbard or Bremen before a potential matchup with No. 25 Marist for the regional title at Richards.
16. Kenwood (19-7, 8-2) (16)
The Proviso East Sectional is tough in Class 4A but the Broncos have enough talent to make an impact. Kenwood is the No. 3 seed as they open with Lane Tech or Leyden before a possible game with St. Joseph for a regional title at Proviso West.
15. North Lawndale (20-7, 7-3) (15)
Class 3A doesn't have a lot of ranked teams from the area but the Phoenix are an intriguing No. 2 seed in the Fenwick Sectional. North Lawndale starts with Urban Prep West or Little Village before a potential game with Phillips or Dunbar for a regional crown at Little Village.
14. Prospect (22-5, 9-1) (12)
The Knights put a scare into unbeaten Fremd as they're going to be a tough out in the Class 4A Robert Morris Sectional. Prospect will take on Rolling Meadows or Wauconda before a potential regional final against Buffalo Grove.
13. Benet (22-6, 6-3) (14)
Battle-tested Benet enters the Class 4A Hinsdale Central as the No. 3 seed as the Redwings have a tough group of teams to get past. Benet starts with either York or Naperville Central before a potential regional title game against Wheaton North.
12. Conant (24-4, 8-2) (13)
Last season's sectional title has Conant thinking about another deep playoff run as they are the No. 2 seed in the Class 4A Robert Morris Sectional. The Cougars begin things with either Palatine or Grayslake Central before a possible regional final with Barrington or McHenry.
11. Orr (18-5, 8-2) (11)
Orr scored an impressive Class 2A regional title win over previously-ranked Uplift as the Spartans looked like a major contender for a state title. Next week Orr will face IC Catholic Prep in the sectional semifinals before a potential matchup with either DePaul Prep or St. Edward for a sectional title. With the balance and athleticism that Orr has they'll be a tough matchup for anyone the rest of the way.
10. Fenwick (24-4, 9-0) (10)
The Friars won their regular-season finale against Lincoln Park as they look like a Class 3A contender. The Catholic League champions open with Noble schools DRW Trading or Rauner before a potential regional title game against UIC at King. Fenwick should be major favorites to advance.
9. Wheaton-Warrenville South (27-1, 16-0) (10)
The Tigers picked up a win over Naperville North to go through the DuPage Valley unbeaten as they're the No. 1 seed in the Hinsdale Central Sectional. Wheaton-Warrenville South opens with either West Chicago or Glenbard West and might face Downers South or Hinsdale Central for a regional title at West Chicago.
8. Fremd (26-0, 10-0) (8)
Unbeaten entering the Class 4A playoffs, the Vikings are big favorites as the No. 1 seed in the Robert Morris Sectional. The Mid-Suburban League champs start with Schaumburg or Hoffman Estates before facing either Hersey or Grayslake North for a regional title.
7. Joliet West (23-3, 14-0) (7)
Joliet West enters Class 4A as one of the teams to watch as the Tigers are the No. 2 seed in the Lincoln-Way East Sectional. After winning a sectional last season, expectations are high for this team as they start with Lincoln-Way Central or Plainfield Central before possibly facing Romeoville or Oswego East for a regional title.
6. Whitney Young (20-7, 8-2) (6)
Will a tough schedule help prepare the Dolphins for the Class 4A Proviso East Sectional? Whitney Young should be prepared as the No. 2 seed as they face either Riverside-Brookfield or Von Steuben to open the playoffs. Whitney Young hosts its own regional and might see Lincoln Park or St. Ignatius for the regional title.
5. Bolingbrook (24-1, 9-1) (5)
The top seed in the Lincoln-Way East Sectional is the Raiders as they open with either Yorkville or Lincoln-Way West before a potential regional championship game against Sandburg or Lemont. One of the deepest and most balanced teams in the state, Bolingbrook should be a major factor in Class 4A.
4. Curie (23-3, 10-0) (4)
The defending Class 4A champions are the No. 1 in the Proviso East Sectional as they start with either Jones or Morton. The Condors host their own regional as they might face either Proviso East or De La Salle for a regional title.
3. Morgan Park (19-6, 9-1) (3)
A major favorite for a state title in Class 3A, the Mustangs are the No. 1 seed in the St. Rita Sectional. Morgan Park opens with either Evergreen Park or Noble/Johnson and the Mustangs could face Julian for a regional title at Evergreen Park on Friday night. If Morgan Park continues to get strong interior play from Melo Burrell and Lenell Henry then Ayo Dosunmu and Cam Irvin have so many opportunities to shoot from the outside.
2. Evanston (24-3, 10-0) (2)
Evanston enters the Class 4A Waukegan Sectional as the No. 1 seed as the Wildkits will be heavy favorites. Beginning the playoffs with Maine East or Niles West, Evanston could face Deerfield or Maine South for a regional title. The Wildkits have beaten both of those teams recently and will be heavy favorites.
1. Simeon (24-3, 8-2) (1)
Simeon will be major contenders in Class 4A as the city champions open the playoffs with either Shepard or Eisenhower. The Eisenhower Regional title could come against either Stagg or Marian Catholic as the Wolverines won't have an easy sectional to get through.
