Youth softball pitchers have high risk of suffering shoulder injuries

Dr. Nikhil Verma, a shoulder orthopedic surgeon at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, discusses the increased risk of injury in female softball pitchers. The windmill pitch, used by female pitchers, puts more stress on the shoulders and biceps than the traditional overhead pitch and must be carefully monitored to prevent injury.
