Ryan Wheelers three-run homer fueled a five-run third inning and lifted Mobile to a 6-3 victory over Tennessee Wednesday night in the opening game of the Southern League championship series at Hank Aaron Stadium.

Marco Carrillo surrendered the shot and took the loss after allowing five runs on four hits and a walk in 2 23 innings. The Smokies used five relievers who were largely effective in shutting down the Bay Bears but Tennessee couldnt muster much against Pat Corbin. He picked up the victory after allowing three runs in six innings, scattering five hits.

Jae-Hoon Ha and Ty Wright had homers for Tennessee.
