Sports Business Minute: A great start for Rob Manfred

Share

Rob Manfred assumed the office of MLB commissioner nearly four months ago, and as Sports Business Insider Rick Horrow describes in the video above, he's already off to a great start succeeding Bud Selig.

Horrow says baseball franchises are up between 40 and 45 percent, the league's website and deal with Snapchat are appealing to younger demographics and big-city teams such as the Mets, Yankees and Cubs are generating more interest from bigger markets, which of course means more money. And best of all, Manfred's push to shorten games appears to have worked in the short-term, with games being played about 8 or 9 minutes quicker.

"Clearly baseball is moving in the right direction," Horrow says. "Kudos to Rob Manfred."
