Sports Business Minute: NBA in good hands with Adam Silver

The 2014-15 NBA season proved why the league is in good hands with Commissioner Adam Silver.

Under Silver's guidance, franchise values grew this past season while viewership of the NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers increased 30 percent, including $300 million in ad sales for the Finals.

And while the growth this past year is a major accomplishment for the league, it's just the calm before the storm for when the salary cap increases two seasons from now.

"Survive this year and thrive next year," Horrow explained. "With the new TV deals kicking in in 2016 the real key is getting to next season where the salary cap goes up 30 to 40 percent next year."
