Sports Business Minute: The NFL's newest mega-event

Share

It's no secret the NFL Draft was a smashing success in Chicago last week, and it makes Sports Business Insider Rick Horrow believe that Roger Goodell will have that kind of success in any city that hosts the annual festivities. Much like the Super Bowl, the NFL can now turn the draft into a week-long event for fans to enjoy.

"An astounding success in Chicago at a number of levels. Over $200 million of economic impact, nearly 200,000 people at Grant Park for the Saturday festival there," Horrow said. "NFL looking to move the draft on a regular basis, started out as a little race issue and quibble over the Radio City Music Hall and the race to another city continues. Chicago, whose to think of the next city they go to. Most importantly, the NFL has a new mega-event with which to move from city to city."
