Tennessee Stays Alive In Southern League Championship Series

Tennessee staved off elimination Saturday night at Smokies Park, rallying to defeat Mobile, 4-2 in Game Three of the Southern League championship series. The Smokies will look to even up the series Sunday afternoon in Game Four.

The Smokies scored three eighth-inning runs to stun the BayBears. Nelson Perez led off the inning with a homer to right, tying the score at 2-2. James Adduci walked and after Jae-Hoon Ha bunted him over to second, Blake Lalli was walked intentionally to set up the doubleplay. It didnt work. Rebel Ridling followed with an RBI single to center, giving the Smokies the lead. Nate Samson would later reach on an error allowing the fourth run to score.

Rafael Dolis pitched a shaky but scoreless ninth to preserve the victory for Jeff Beliveau, who had pitched a scoreless eighth. Ryan Searle had started and allowed pair of unearned runs over five innings.Blake Lalli had a pair of hits for the Smokies and is hitting .474 through the first three games of the series.
