The White Sox made a mini splash in the international free agency market, signing Hanlet Otano from the Dominican Republic.

Otano, a right-handed hitter, just turned 16 on Monday and has good size (6-foot-4, 200 pounds), profiling as a corner outfielder.

This is the third Dominican player the Sox have signed since the international signing period opened on July 2nd. They also agreed to terms with third baseman Luis Castillo and shortstop Johan Cruz.
