SEATTLE (AP) Nelson Kirksey scored a career-high 25 points, adding seven assists and three steals, as Missouri-Kansas City topped Seattle 95-84 Saturday night.

Leading 14-13 about 5 minutes into the game, UMKC (5-9, 2-0 Western Athletic Conference) used a 13-2 to open up a 12-point lead. Frank Williams, Jr. hit two of his four 3-pointers during that stretch and the Kangaroos made 9 of 18 3-point shots in the first half and took a 44-33 lead into the half.

Seattle (8-6, 0-1), which trailed by as many as 20 in the second half, made it a two-possession game when Emerson Murray's pair of free throws pulled the Redhawks within 82-77 with 1:18 remaining. Martez Harrison responded with a conventional three-point play ten seconds later and the Kangaroos made all 10 of their free throws in the final 41 seconds to seal the win.

Isiah Umipig scored 24 in the loss.
