Christophe Riblon wins Stage 18 of the 100th edition of the Tour de France, conquering the dreaded 42 turns of Alpe d’Huez.

In lieu of his team releasing performance data to French newspapers to dispel any suspicion of doping, Froome said he was not going to target the stage win, but instead try to protect his yellow jersey on Stage 18.

The 107-mile trek from Gap to L'Alpe d'Huez features two huge ascents of the famed Tour climb. Both of the ascents are known as HC (Hors Categorie) because they are so tough they are considered beyond classification.
