- BROOKLYN, Mich. - NASCAR adds a rule ordering drivers to not approach the track or moving cars after accidents. Less than a week ago, a driver was struck and killed during a dirt-track race in New York.

- BROOKLYN, Mich. - The executive vice president of Stewart-Haas Racing says Tony Stewart is grieving, and it will be up to the star driver to decide when he's ready to get back in the car.

- PITTSFORD, N.Y. - Lexi Thompson and Meena Lee are ahead by a stroke entering the second round of the LPGA Championship, the fourth major of the season. Top-ranked Stacy Lewis is five shots back.

- GREENSBORO, N.C. - Camilo Villegas, looking for his first victory since 2010, is in front going into the second round of the Wyndham Championship.

- INDIANAPOLIS - Two weeks after his ghastly leg fracture, Paul George is to discuss his injury and rehab. Doctors say the Pacers' star could need up to 18 months to recover.

- CHICAGO - Bulls star Derrick Rose takes another step in his latest comeback when the U.S. plays Brazil in a tuneup for the World Cup of Basketball.

- NANJING, China - Three teenagers from the Ebola-affected region of Africa will not be allowed to compete at the Youth Olympics in China because of the risk of possible infection.

- PHOENIX - Defenses have struggled to keep up with the high-powered offenses proliferating in college football. They're not alone. College football officials have had to make adjustments, too.

- LOS ANGELES - In a game between division leaders, Zack Greinke starts for the Dodgers against Jimmy Nelson of the Milwaukee Brewers. Los Angeles has won seven of 10. Game starts 10 p.m.

- Four NFL exhibition games: Philadelphia at New England (7:30 p.m.); Tennessee at New Orleans (8 p.m.); San Diego at Seattle (10 p.m.); Detroit at Oakland (10 p.m.).

- MASON, Ohio - Roger Federer plays Andy Murray in the quarterfinals of the Western & Southern Open, a tuneup for the U.S. Open.

- Baseball fans in search of that elusive foul ball can now put technology to work. Some tech-savvy buddies have created a mobile system that uses heat maps to chart the most likely sections to snare a souvenir.
