Driven by Brian Sears and trained by Tom Fanning, the gelding ran the mile in 1:57.4 and returned $2.60 $2.20 and $2.10. Sumatra is eligible for the $1.2 million Hambletonian, harness racing's most prestigious race, which will be held at the Meadowlands on Aug. 2.
