Seattle begins NHL season-ticket drive
Earlier on Tuesday in Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkin’s State of the City Address, Mayor Durkin announced that the city will have a season ticket drive that will launch on March 1st. You can find more information available at NHLSeattle.com.
Yep, NHL fans longing for a professional hockey team in Seattle will soon be able to put some money down on their future seats! Mayor Durkan was joined by the “Oak View Group”, which has been a major part of trying to bring an NHL team to the city, in making the announcement of the season tickets campaign.
The ticket deposits will run you $500 per ticket for season tickets or if you’re looking for the fancy seats you can spend $1,000 per ticket for club season tickets.

NHL to Seattle timeline so far…
It was just last week that Billionaire David Bonderman and filmmaker Jerry Bruckheimer, who are heading up the group that is looking to bring the NHL to Seattle, officially submitted its expansion application with NHL.
On February 13th, the league confirmed that they had received the Seattle groups application.
On December 7th, the NHL had announced that they would be accepting and considering an expansion application from Seattle.
Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan means business
Mayor Durkan had many talking points at Tuesday’s State of the City Address. Durkan discussed that this season-ticket drive is another big step down the path of bringing professional hockey to Seattle and she also tweeted “that the application has gone in to the NHL. And I’m telling you, mark your calendars: Starting on March 1 at 10am, you will be able to make your deposit for season tickets.”
Also, many Seattle Sonics fans were excited with her tweet and talk of the efforts to bring back the Sonics.
