The Milwaukee Bucks last Thursday, 103-9,1 followed by a loss on Saturday night to the New Orleans Pelicans with a final score of 123-116. Portland is hoping to have a bounce back game with the Blazers hosting the Washington Wizards (12-11) on Tuesday night.
In Saturday’s loss, Damian Lillard had 29 points and eight assists. The big storylines of the game included the continued inconsistent play of the Blazers and the bounce-back performance from Meyers Leonard. The Blazers center scored 17 points in 16 minutes of work off the bench.
The Wizards will be playing in the second night of back-to-back game on Tuesday night after facing the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City on Monday. The Jazz took it to the Wizards with a 116-69 win. It was a very difficult night shooting for Washington on Monday. The Wizards finished the game shooting 28.8% from the field and 20% from three-point range.
With Monday’s loss, the Wizards fall to 6-6 on the road.
It has been two weeks since John Wall was sidelined to deal with inflammation in his left knee. Washington has gone 2-3 without their All-Star point guard in the lineup.
The Blazers are not reporting any injuries for Tuesday’s contest. On Monday night the Wizards were without John Wall (sore left knee) and Sheldon Mac (left Achilles surgery) vs. the Jazz.
This is the second meeting between Portland and Washington this season. It was back on November 25th in Washington D.C. when the Blazers overcame a 17-point deficit in the fourth quarter and ended up beating the Wizards, 108-105 behind Lillard’s 29 points and McCollum scoring the Blazers' final seven points in the win.
