Dario Saric to miss 2nd straight game Tuesday vs. Brooklyn

Dario Saric will miss his second straight game Tuesday against the Nets because of his right elbow. The starting power forward has been diagnosed with cellulitis, a bacteria-caused infection.

Saric injured his elbow last Wednesday against the Knicks, which sidelined him Sunday in Charlotte because of soreness. Following the injury, his elbow became infected.

According to the American Academy of Dermatology, cellulitis occurs when "the bacteria infect the deep layers of skin and tissue beneath the skin."

Saric received IV treatment Monday. He will be reevaluated Tuesday ahead of the Sixers' back-to-back Wednesday in Detroit.

The Sixers already were without Joel Embiid (orbital fracture, concussion) when Saric was ruled out Sunday. Saric (14.9 points, 6.9 rebounds per game) was expected to fill part of the void left by Embiid.

Brett Brown started Ersan Ilyasova Sunday in Saric's place, a role the veteran was familiar with from his previous stint with the Sixers. Ilyasova scored 16 points with three rebounds against the Hornets before fouling out.

The Sixers (46-30) have six games remaining in the regular season. They hold a half-game lead over the Pacers for home-court advantage.
