The Anti Aaron Rowand

Share

It only took Aaron Rowand one balls-to-the-wall catch to win over the fans off Philadelphia.  It only took Brett Myers one moronic act to become a hated villain.  Myers was never really a true fan favorite, but he was without a doubt the Phillies best starting pitcher and therefore embraced.  In one drunken night he put a horrible blemish on his family, himself, and his team.  I think he could have salvaged some sort of second chance if he at least expressed incredible regret and acknowledged what he did was absolutely unacceptable actions for any man to take.  Instead, when asked if he was embarrassed by his actions, Myers responded: "I'm sorry it had to get public, that's it. Of course, it's embarrassing."  Wow.  And you wonder why professional athletes get a bad rep.  Brett Myers is going to have some tough trips out to the mound in South Philly for the rest of his career.  That's if he lasts as a Phillie.
