As Taylor Twellman said on the ESPN telecast, most Americans watching at home barely had time to grab a beer before Clint Dempsey found the back of the net and sent shockwaves across the country. It took just 32 seconds for Dempsey give the Americans the lead according to Ian Darke's watch.
Yes, the U.S. has lost their form a bit at times and are going to have deal with the loss of Jozy Altidore to hamstring issues but they hold a 1-0 lead at the half and have Tim Howard behind them.
And damn, how about Dempsey's reaction? (video) Absolutely badass. One shot worth savoring that will certainly get the patriotic blood flowing.

And then Dempsey's blood started flowing when he took a kick to the nose. A lot of insta-reaction of people thinking it's broken, but no official word yet. He didn't miss more than a few moments before getting back out there.
