PHILADELPHIA- (November 11, 2016) – The Philadelphia Flyers will now be available in more places and on more screens than ever before as CSN Philadelphia introduces live streaming of all regular season games, along with Flyers Pregame Live and Flyers Postgame Live. Beginning with tomorrow night’s game against the Minnesota Wild, this new streaming offering will be available without any additional costs to subscribers of CSN Philadelphia and TCN, through participating providers. The added value to CSN and TCN subscribers supports NBCUniversal’s “TV Everywhere” initiative, which makes quality content available to authenticated customers both in and out of the home, and on multiple platforms.

CSN Philadelphia’s addition of NHL streaming follows its 2014 introduction of live NBA streaming, which has experienced significant consumption gains including an increase of 220% in unique visitors over this time last year. To access the CSN video player, viewers can visit CSNPhilly.com on their PC, or download the NBC Sports app. Powered by Playmaker Media, the NBC Sports app is available on Apple iOS, Android and select Samsung devices, as well as on Amazon Fire, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Win10, and Xbox. Authenticated CSN Philadelphia subscribers now have the ability to access live NHL and NBA games, as well as other sports programming, even when traveling outside of their region, provided they are within the United States.

“NHL live streaming continues our commitment to deliver compelling content across all platforms,” said Brian Monihan, CSN Philadelphia President and General Manager. “Philadelphia has some of the most passionate fans in the country, and now we are able to provide these fans with access to Flyers and Sixers games, plus our pre- and postgame programs on any device.”

“We are excited that Flyers fans will now be able to enjoy CSN’s comprehensive Flyers coverage across multiple platforms,” said Flyers Chief Operating Officer Shawn Tilger. “These expanded viewing options help us continue to provide the best possible experience for our fans.”

In addition to live game broadcasts, and pre- and postgame coverage, Flyers fans can catch the latest team developments, game previews and opposing team analysis from CSNPhilly.com’s Flyers Insider Tim Panaccio, and by tuning into Breakfast on Broad, Philly Sports Talk, SportsNet Central, and CSNPhilly.com.

Philly's new NLL franchise to be called the Wings

Philly's new NLL franchise to be called the Wings

The Philadelphia Wings are back.

Comcast Spectacor on Wednesday revealed the name of Philadelphia's new National Lacrosse League franchise would be the Wings, as a result of an online poll that allowed fans to suggest and subsequently vote on the team's name. The Wings received over 5,000 votes, beating out the two other top-three entries, the Fire and Founders.

The actual name reveal was done in theatrical fashion, as a skydiver, dropping from a plane high above the Wells Fargo Center parking lot, unveiled a banner of the team's name and logo.

“The Wings are clearly the favorite, and we’re happy to give the fans what they want,” said Lindsey Masciangelo, executive director of business operations for the team.

The Wings, which are set to be the 11th team in the NLL, will make their debut in the 2018-19 season and play in the Wells Fargo Center. The NLL's season runs from December through April.

Philadelphia hasn't had an NLL team since 2014 when the Wings moved to Connecticut and became the New England Black Wolves. The Wings were one of the four original teams in the NLL, which was founded in 1986. They played at the Spectrum and the Wells Fargo Center. The Wings won six championships.
