TOWSON, Md. -- Zane Martin totaled 18 points, five rebounds and four assists and Brian Starr added 16 points and six boards to power Towson to a 90-68 romp over Drexel on Thursday night.
Mike Morsell and Justin Gorham each scored 13 for the Tigers (14-6, 4-3 Colonial Athletic Association), while Deshaun Morman scored 12.
Austin Williams topped the Dragons (7-13, 1-6) with 14 points. Tramaine Isabell had 13 points and six rebounds, Kurk Lee chipped in with 12 points, five rebounds and five assists and Alihan Demir scored 10. Drexel has dropped four straight.
Williams scored eight to help Drexel jump out to a 13-5 lead five minutes into the game, but Morman's 3-pointer started an 18-5 run and the Tigers never trailed again. Towson has won four of its last five games.
Towson had a decided advantage at the free-throw line, making 30 of 37 attempts to Drexel's 17-of-20 effort. The Dragons made just 5 of 20 from 3-point range and they were outrebounded 46-25.
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. — Justin Wright-Foreman scored 22 of his 32 points in the second half, Eli Pemberton and Rokas Gustys had double-doubles and Hofstra pulled away in the second half to beat Drexel 88-76 on Saturday.
Wright-Foreman buried four 3-pointers and added six assists and five rebounds for the Pride (17-11, 10-6 Colonial Athletic Association). Gustys posted his third straight double-double and 13th of the season with 10 points and 17 rebounds, while Pemberton had 16 points and 10 boards for his first this season.
Drexel (11-18, 5-11) , which has lost four straight, led 34-32 at halftime, but Desure Buie scored five in an 8-0 run to begin the second half as Hofstra moved in front 40-34 and never relinquished the lead. Wright-Foreman's 3-pointer pushed the lead to double digits 4 1/2 minutes after intermission. Tramaine Isabell hit a jumper to cut Drexel's deficit to 69-66 with five minutes left, but Wright-Foreman scored nine over the next 2 1/2 minutes to put the game out of reach.
Isabell topped the Dragons with 29 points.
CHARLESTON, S.C. — Jarrell Brantley scored 30 points, Nick Harris added 21, both career highs, and College of Charleston rolled to an 89-67 win over Drexel on Saturday for its eighth-straight win.
Grant Riller added 16 points for the Cougars (20-6, 11-3 Colonial Athletic Association), who won their 15th straight at home and avenged an earlier overtime loss at Drexel.
Brantley had eight points, including a 3-pointer and a 3-point play, in a 15-0 run that put the Cougars up 71-56 with 7:50 to play. The Dragons missed five straight shots with three turnovers.
Brantley was 12-of-18 shooting, making all four of his 3-pointers. Harris was 9-of-10 and Riller 7-of-11. The Cougars shot 55 percent (37 of 67) and had 16 assists with just one turnover.
Tramaine Isabell had 17 points for the Dragons (11-16, 5-9), whose previous five games were decided by three points or less, four of them wins.
