Delirious Doug Pederson lets fans touch Lombardi trophy

As the Eagles' Super Bowl parade was headed down Broad Street, Doug Pederson initially wasn't on a float. Nope, Doug was walking the parade route, Lombardi trophy in hand, letting Eagles fans touch it.

Think he gets it?

"To come out here today and give a little bit back to the city of Philadelphia means a lot," Pederson told NBC Sports Philadelphia's John Clark moments later.

"That's what it's all about. That's why we get in this business."

The scenes early in the parade were just as crazy as you expected, if not more. Fans throwing beers to players on the floats. People like Ryan Howard in attendance.

"You never know what to expect in the city of Philadelphia," Pederson said. "These people love these players and this organization."

Many of us are still processing how the hell this all happened. It's beginning to set in for Dougie P.

"Something that will stick with me the rest of my life, the rest of my career," he said. "I'm just so happy and honored to be part of the success we've had here. It's a dream come true."

And who knows, maybe more dreams will come true for Pederson and the Eagles, who are incredibly well set-up for the future.

"That's what I want to do. Mr. Lurie hired me for a reason," Pederson said. "This is obviously the beginning step. Why can't we go back to the Super Bowl? Why can't we have more opportunities?"

Good question.
