Nearly the entire Eagles team met on the field to wish Jason Peters well as the future Hall of Fame offensive tackle was carted off the field.

The injury certainly didn't look good.

Peters went down early in the third quarter when Washington defensive lineman Ziggy Hood fell on his right leg. Peters was seemingly in a lot of pain as he grasped at his right knee. Trainers brought out an air cast to immobilize the leg.

Fans chanted Peters’ name as he was carted off the field.

Peters was officially ruled out for the rest of the game with a right knee injury.

Eagles analyst Seth Joyner, citing an anonymous source, said on Eagles Postgame Live that it was an MCL and ACL injury for Peters. However, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the team does not believe he tore his ACL.

With Peters out, backup Halapoulivaati Vaitai came in at left tackle and Lane Johnson stayed at right tackle. If Peters is out for an extended period of time, it's likely Johnson would flip sides.

Peters wasn’t the lone Eagles starter to be lost for the night.

Middle linebacker Jordan Hicks was injured on the second play of Monday night's game against the Redskins.

Hicks almost was carried off the field without being able to place any weight on his right leg. After getting checked out on the sideline, he was carted into the Eagles' locker room.

After the Eagles originally said Hicks was questionable to return, they ruled him out a little while later.

Per Joyner, citing the anonymous source, the injury was to Hicks' Achilles.

Hicks was in some clear pain coming off the field. As he waited for the cart, he was consoled by injured safety Chris Maragos, who was lost for the season in Carolina.

Doug Pederson didn't disclose specifics of the injuries after the game and said the Eagles would know more on Tuesday.

Coming into Monday's game, Hicks was listed as questionable with a calf injury. He said he hurt his calf after overcompensating for his injured ankle. On Saturday, when asked if he was 100 percent, Hicks said "who is?"

Hicks played in all 16 games last season but has struggled with injuries dating back to his years in college. He played eight games as a rookie in 2015 before tearing his pec.

Mychal Kendricks (hamstring) was inactive on Monday, so the Eagles were down to Nigel Bradham, Najee Goode and Joe Walker in their base defense. It sounds like Kendricks will be ready for Sunday's game against the 49ers.

"He was close. I think he'll be ready to go this week," Pederson said. "We'll evaluate him again tomorrow and get him ready to go."
