Rob Gronkowski answers the big question

MINNEAPOLIS — Rob Gronkowski got his ass kicked in Madden but still came out a hero with one word: Yes.

The question, posed after an event at the Microsoft Store with LeGarrette Blount: “Do you expect to play Sunday?”

The answer, twice: “Yes.”

Gronkowski’s health has been a major storyline ahead of the Super Bowl after he suffered a concussion in the first half of the Patriots’ AFC Championship win over the Jaguars. After being held out of practice sessions last week, he joined teammates for Saturday’s practice but remained in concussion protocol.

The team’s next injury report comes Wednesday; Gronkowski wouldn’t say definitively if he’d been cleared yet.

“Hopefully by tomorrow,” he said. “We’ll see how it goes and what the doctors say. I’m not the guy to say, ‘Oh, I’m out of the protocol. That’s the doctors’ call. Hopefully it’s very, very soon.”
