Flyers-Penguins playoff schedule set

The Battle of Pennsylvania will officially start Wednesday.

After clinching a playoff berth thanks to Claude Giroux's first career hat trick (see story), the Flyers learned Saturday night that they'd be facing off against Sidney Crosby and the Penguins. The Flyers last played the Penguins in the postseason following the 2011-2012 season, when the Flyers won in six games.

Now, we know the schedule for the series. The action kicks off Wednesday, with Games 1 and 2 in Pittsburgh at PPG Paints Center.

Wednesday will be an especially crazy night in Philadelphia sports, with the Flyers in action, the Sixers taking on the Bucks in their regular-season finale and the Phillies facing the Reds.

The Flyers then return to the Wells Fargo Center for Games 3 and 4, for the first playoff hockey in Philadelphia since 2016, when the Flyers lost in six games to the Washington Capitals.

The times for Games 5 through 7, if necessary, are all still to be decided. Keep these dates in mind when the Sixers' playoff schedule is announced in the coming days.
