An ex-girlfriend says in a Connecticut lawsuit that former NFL defensive end Hugh Douglas assaulted her multiple times, including an encounter at a Hartford hotel last year that resulted in his arrest but no jail time.
Thirty-three-year-old Hope Davila, of Hartford, and her attorney, Gloria Allred, filed the federal lawsuit Monday. Davila believes she didn't get justice with the criminal case and is seeking damages for alleged physical and emotional harm.
Douglas has found himself in the middle of a couple of bad situations since retiring from the NFL. You may remember the racially charged incident that caused him to lose his job at ESPN. Or remember the mugshot from his recent arrest.
