John Mayberry's Agent Tries To Find Him The Mermaid From 'Pirates'

John Mayberry's Agent Tries To Find Him The Mermaid From 'Pirates'

This is one of the more awkward stories I've seen in a while, but I guess if you've got an agent, it can't hurt trying to put them to work for you. Those people make good money. One might guess that work usually doesn't include trying to find you a date with a mermaid.

The New York Post has the story, "Philadelphia Phillies star John Mayberry Jr. may be on a
streak on the field, but he still needs his agent to get him a date.
His CAA reps have been trying to hook him up with stunning actress Antoinette Nikprelaj, who played a sexy mermaid in “Pirates of the Caribbean.”

They've also obtained what they claim are the emails Mayberry's people sent out, including a bio of Big John touting he's a Stanford-educated MLB player.

Heck, I'd brag if I went to Stanford and bashed home runs too. Not sure I'd use my agent to try and track down really, really good looking women though.

Thanks to Bleacher Report's star writer Dan Levy for the tip, who asks, "How does she only have 774 Twitter followers?"

Markelle Fultz named in NCAA corruption scandal

Markelle Fultz is one of many players named in a Yahoo report exposing high-profile athletes who accepted loans or bribes from former NBA agent Andy Miller, associate Christian Dawkins and Miller's agency, ASM Sports.

Fultz received a loan of $10,000 at some point before attending the University of Washington, according to the report, which utilized documents and bank records found during the discovery process of the federal investigation into Miller.

Other players named are Dennis Smith Jr., Isaiah Whitehead, Tim Quarterman (a teammate of Ben Simmons' at LSU), Bam Adebayo, Kyle Kuzma, Fred VanVleet and P.J. Dozier.

The records also show that Dawkins, 24, sought reimbursement after having dinner with prominent figures such as Fultz, Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo and unnamed "Villanova coaches." The dinners themselves are one thing, the payment is another.

For more details, here is the Yahoo report, which points out that the findings are so widespread and involve so many universities that punishment will be difficult for the NCAA.
