Saint Joseph’s Charlie Brown was named Atlantic-10 Rookie of the Week for the second time this season. The true freshman averaged 15.0 points and 7.5 rebounds in the last two games.
In St. Joe’s loss to Massachusetts early in the week, the Philadelphia native scored 11 points to go along with his six rebounds. He had his best performance in the Hawks’ win against Penn later in the week. Brown almost captured a double-double scoring 19 points with nine rebounds, both career highs.
Brown’s career-highs bailed the Hawks out of a three-game losing skid.
So far the 6-foot-6 freshman is averaging 11.3 points with 5.2 rebounds. St. Joe's (9-9; 2-4 A-10) will travel to St. Bonaventure on Tuesday night.
