Temple wins three of four quarters vs. Montava

Temple made a six-hour trip on Monday to Montava, Italy, to take on the Montava Sting during Day 6 of its European trip. The Owls won three of four quarters in a scrimmage format in which no final score was kept.

Temple took the first quarter by two points, 23-21, with Josh Brown, Daniel Dingle, Jimmy McDonnell, Dalton Pepper and Mark Williams on the floor. The Owls then won the second quarter handily, 31-18, before securing the third, 21-15. The Sting won the final quarter, 25-17.

A pair of sophomores led the way for Temple. Quenton DeCosey finished the scrimmage with a team-high 18 points and also tallied four assists and three steals, while big man Devontae Watson posted a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Brown, a freshman guard, did a little bit of everything with 12 points, five assists and four steals. Williams, also a freshman, notched 10 points and seven boards.

The Owls will play their final game of the trip against Liomatic Perugia in Foligno on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.
