Penn State rises to No. 4 in latest AP poll

Penn State is back in the top four.

After handily beating Georgia State 56-0 on Saturday, the Nittany Lions (3-0) moved up from No. 5 to No. 4 in the latest AP poll. Penn State leapfrogged USC, who dropped to No. 5 despite beating Texas.

The Nittany Lions were pushed out of the top four in last week's poll after Oklahoma catapulted from No. 5 to No. 2.

The Sooners dropped to No. 3 in this week's poll, as defending-champion Clemson claimed the No. 2 spot. The previous-No. 3 Tigers defeated a top-15 squad for the second consecutive week after taking down Louisville, 47-21, on the road.

After starting the season with three non-conference games, Penn State will begin Big Ten play in Week 4 when the Nittany Lions pay Iowa (3-0) a visit.
