2017 NFL draft prospect watch: Weapons and the trenches

Even after a Week 1 win, the Eagles have plenty of holes to fill in the 2017 NFL draft.

An explosive receiver, a playmaking corner and an offensive tackle to groom will be high on Howie Roseman's wish list.

Here are six players to watch Saturday.

Mike Williams, WR, Clemson, redshirt junior, 6-3/225
As we do more and more of these prospect watches, there are certain players I can't help but highlight. Williams certainly fits that bill. He's the whole package: Size, speed, hands, route running. If I'm a receiver-needy NFL GM, Williams is the guy on the top of my list. So far this season, Williams hasn't truly broken out with 11 catches for 198 yards and no touchdowns in two games. Top QB prospect DeShaun Watson's struggles haven't helped.

No. 5 Clemson vs. South Carolina State, 12 p.m.

Marlon Humphrey, CB, Alabama, redshirt sophomore, 6-1/196
Humphrey is a long, physical corner. Unlike some longer defensive backs, he's a tremendous athlete and has great makeup speed. He had three interceptions last season, but you'd like to see a little more from him when it comes to ball skills. He impressed Week 1 against USC and JuJu Smith-Schuster, considered by many to be the top receiver prospect.

No. 1 Alabama at No. 19 Ole Miss, 3:30 p.m.

Cam Robinson, OT, Alabama, junior, 6-6/310
Robinson is a large human and a bully in the run game. He consistently moves defensive linemen with ease. The issue with Robinson is an off-the-field incident. He wasn't charged, but certainly his maturity and decision making came into question. Despite that situation, Robinson is the most talented offensive lineman in this draft and could be the first one off the board in April.

No. 1 Alabama at No. 19 Ole Miss, 3:30 p.m.

Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford, junior, RB, 6-0/200
Like Williams, McCaffrey is a guy I just love watching. The Heisman runner-up has only played in one game, but he was up to his old tricks: 22 carries for 126 yards and two touchdowns and this ridiculous punt return that was unfortunately called back. He'd be a perfect fit in Doug Pederson's offense.

No. 7 Stanford vs. USC, 8 p.m.

Samaje Purine, RB, Oklahoma, junior, RB, 5-10/235
Perine is a freight train carrying the football. He's big, strong and will not go down with a mere arm tackle. He'd have to prove he can catch the football out of the backfield to be a fit for the Eagles, but his size is similar to Chiefs running back Spencer Ware, who enjoyed success last season with Pederson as Kansas City's offensive coordinator. Perine will face a tough test this week against a stout Ohio State defense.

No. 14 Oklahoma vs. No. 3 Ohio State, 7:30 p.m.

Dion Dawkins, OT, Temple, senior, 6-5/320
Dawkins is the Owls' left tackle, but probably projects better as a right tackle or guard at the next level. Watching Dawkins against Notre Dame last season, he was only beaten once and that was by Sheldon Day, who was drafted by the Jaguars in the fourth round in 2016. Dawkins is strong, uses his hands well and has good feet. He also has a bit of a mean streak, which is a nice asset for an offensive lineman.

Temple at Penn State, 12 p.m.
