Eagles-Packers: 5 matchups to watch

The Eagles (5-5) will host the Packers (4-6) at the Linc on Monday night in a nationally televised game.

The Eagles have yet to lose on their home turf this season — a perfect 4-0 — and they'll catch the Packers coming in on a four-game losing streak.

On Thanksgiving, the Eagles got some help, when the Cowboys beat Washington and Detroit beat Minnesota. The Eagles' playoff hopes aren't really great, but they're still alive.

Here are five matchups to watch on Monday night.

Allen Barbre vs. Nick Perry
With the injury to Halapoulivaati Vaitai (MCL sprain) the Eagles will shift their offensive line for this game against Green Bay. Barbre will swing out from left guard to right tackle and will be replaced by veteran Stefen Wisniewski.

Barbre will have a challenge in this game going against Perry, who leads the Packers with seven sacks working off the left side of the defensive line.

Zach Ertz vs. Packers' defense
Ertz has really seemed to find a connection with Carson Wentz and the two could do some damage Monday night. While Ertz is coming off a couple big games, the Packers have been porous against tight ends this season.

In their last two games, the Packers gave up 79 yards to Jordan Reed of the Redskins and 124 yards and a touchdown to Delanie Walker of the Titans.

Carson Wentz vs. Packers' battered secondary
Wentz has seemingly regressed over the past few weeks, following a tremendous start to his rookie season. Monday will be a chance for him to bounce back against a secondary that's extremely banged up.

The Packers were already without CB Sam Shields, and now Damarious Randall is questionable and Demetri Goodson is out. Wentz might not have great receivers, but if there was ever a time to target them, it's in this game.

Aaron Rodgers vs. Eagles' D-line
For the second straight week, the Eagles will face a quarterback who is great at using his legs to extend plays. In fact, defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz said there's some carryover from playing Russell Wilson last week.

The Eagles got some pressure on Wilson last week, but couldn't get him down and it seemed like that wore them out throughout the afternoon. If the D-line can't get home against Rodgers, it could be a long night.

Jared Cook vs. Nigel Bradham/Malcolm Jenkins
After missing six games with an ankle injury, Cook returned last week against Washington to catch six balls for 105 yards and a touchdown. It's hard to figure out if that will continue on Monday, but the Eagles need to be ready.

A week after facing Jimmy Graham, Cook will be another big test for the Birds. Nigel Bradham and Malcolm Jenkins are the two who will line up against him a lot.
