Snap counts: Eagles get no production from outside receivers

The next time you see Dorial Green-Beckham, it might be on the side of a milk carton.

It's hard for a 6-foot-5, 237-pound man to disappear. But that's what DGB has done the past two weeks.

After failing to catch a pass on five targets in 49 snaps against the Giants, Green-Beckham played 44 snaps Sunday against Atlanta and wasn't targeted even once in the 24-15 win.

While slot receiver Jordan Matthews (75 snaps) caught six passes for 73 yards against the Falcons, the outside receivers gave the Eagles basically nothing.

Green-Beckham, Nelson Agholor and Bryce Treggs combined to play 131 snaps Sunday. What did they have to show for it? Two catches for seven yards.

Both of those catches belonged to Agholor, last year's first-round pick, who played 72 snaps, just three fewer than Matthews. DGB got 44 snaps and Treggs got 15 for the second straight week.

While Ryan Mathews had one of the biggest days of his career running the ball, Darren Sproles actually played more than him: 31 snaps to 26. But Mathews made the most of his plays. Of Mathews' 26 snaps, he carried the ball 19 times for 109 yards and two scores.

Sproles had just two rushing attempts but had eight catches for 57 yards and always plays a role in pass protection, especially on third down.

Wendell Smallwood had 19 snaps and carried the ball 13 times for 70 yards.

Rookie offensive lineman Isaac Seumalo picked up 13 snaps working as an extra tight end and fullback.

On defense, the Eagles played their fewest snaps of 2016, just 50 against the Falcons. They should thank the offense for carrying the load there. The Eagles won the time of possession battle 38:10 to 21:50.

Malcolm Jenkins, Rodney McLeod and Jalen Mills played all 50 snaps. This is the first time in Mills' young career he's played every snap.

Nolan Carroll played 26 snaps before leaving the game with a concussion. Leodis McKelvin, "flat tire" and all, played 27 snaps.

A week after playing just three snaps, Mychal Kendricks played 19 on Sunday and had his best game of the season. He had three tackles, a quarterback hit and a pass defensed.

At defensive end, Connor Barwin (39 snaps) and Brandon Graham (38) were pretty even. Vinny Curry got 26 and played much better than he has been. Even Curry admitted it. "Definitely got a lot more pressure," he said.
