The Flyers on Saturday night recalled goaltender Anthony Stolarz from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on an emergency basis because Steve Mason is sick.

Stolarz will back up Michal Neuvirth on Saturday against the New Jersey Devils at the Wells Fargo Center (see game notes).

Stolarz, 23, appeared in four games -- two starts -- earlier in the season when Neuvirth was out of action because of a left knee injury. Stolarz was 2-0 with a shutout in his starts and has a 1.79 goals-against average and .938 save percentage in all four appearances.

It is unclear if Mason will be available for Sunday night's game against the Rangers in New York.

The Phantoms recalled goalie Martin Ouellette from the Reading Royals to back up Alex Lyon for Saturday's game against the Wilkes/Barre-Scranton Penguins.
