Tonight's lineup: Cesar Hernandez returns to leadoff spot for Phillies

Share

Cesar Hernandez is back from the DL and in his customary leadoff spot for the Phillies Monday night in Miami.

Hernandez missed 31 games with an oblique strain and the Phillies went 9-22.

They missed his consistency atop the lineup. Since the start of 2016, Hernandez has hit .289 with a .361 on-base percentage.

From opening day until Hernandez went on the disabled list, the Phillies hit .242 with a .708 OPS as a team. With him out, they hit .239 with a .682 OPS.

Unfortunately for the Phils, Hernandez's return coincides with Aaron Altherr's trip to the DL. Altherr strained his right hamstring on a double Friday night in Milwaukee.

Tommy Joseph is out of Monday's lineup.
