Report: Sixers to get Bennett in Love-Wiggins swap?

The worst kept secret in the NBA right now is that Kevin Love will be traded by the Minnesota Timberwolves before the season begins.

The destination is expected to be Cleveland, with the Cavaliers shipping off No. 1 overall pick Andrew Wiggins to team Love with LeBron James and Kyrie Irving to form the league's latest big three.

It was previously reported that the Sixers -- with their ample cap space -- could join in the trade to make the deal work or take part in a separate move. Now, according to a report from ESPN's Brian Windhorst (via ProBasketballTalk), the Sixers could ship Thaddeus Young to the Timberwolves and potentially bring back last year's No. 1 pick, Anthony Bennett, from the Cavs.

"Before the papers have been signed, there is this handshake agreement that Kevin Love to the Cavs, Andrew Wiggins to the Timberwolves, and I believe Thaddeus Young will end up in Minnesota either as part of a separate deal or as part of a three-way deal," Windhorst said. "Possibly, Anthony Bennett, who’s on the Cavs right now, could get re-routed to Philadelphia in part of a deal for Thaddeus Young. There will be draft picks involved."

It was reported last week that the Timberwolves were interested in Young to replace the departing Love as part of the transaction with the Cavs or in a separate trade (see story).

Bennett would be brought in to help the Sixers fill Young's void while also giving Sam Hinkie another young asset.

The UNLV product struggled mightily during his rookie season after undergoing shoulder surgery last summer. The 6-foot-8, 259-pound power forward averaged just 4.2 points and 3.0 rebounds in 12.8 minutes per game last season in Cleveland.

However, Bennett looked much better during summer league action last month after slimming down and undergoing surgery for sleep apnea that improved his breathing. The Canadian led the Cavs in the Las Vegas Summer League with 13.3 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.
