Sixers Summer League games to air live on TCN

CSN Philadelphia and TCN deliver fans the most comprehensive Sixers’ coverage with two live Summer League broadcasts, and reports in SportsNet CentralPhilly Sports Talk, CSNPhilly.com and on social media platforms.
 
Summer League games
TCN will air two Sixers Summer League games on July 3 and July 5 from Salt Lake City, Utah.

Markelle Fultz, who was the first overall pick by Philadelphia in the 2017 NBA Draft, is expected to play in the Utah Summer League. Fellow draft additions Jonah Bolden (the 36th overall pick) and Mathias Lessort (50th overall) are also scheduled to play alongside returning Sixers Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot and Alex Poythress.
 
The Sixers' Summer League game broadcast schedule is as follows:

Sixers vs. Celtics

Live: Monday, July 3 at 7 p.m. on TCN
Replay: Tuesday, July 4 at 11 a.m. on CSN

Sixers vs. Utah

Live: Wednesday, July 5 at 9 p.m. on TCN
Replay: Thursday, July 6 at 11 a.m. on CSN
 
Amy Fadool and Marc Zumoff will provide commentary during Monday’s game from the CSN Philadelphia studio.
 
Games are available via live stream through the NBC Sports App or through CSNPhilly.com. Additionally, all games will be made available on Comcast’s Xfinity Video-On-Demand platform.

Tomboy documentary premieres March 13 at 10 p.m.

PHILADELPHIA -- Continuing throughout Women's History Month, CSN Philadelphia elevates the conversation about gender in sports with the airing of TOMBOY, a multi-platform documentary project, told through the voices of many of the world's most prominent females athletes, broadcasters, and sports executives. A special one-hour TOMBOY, airs on CSN Philadelphia on Monday, March 13 at 10 p.m.
 
Notable figures appearing in TOMBOY include legendary champion for gender equality/tennis icon Billie Jean King, Little League World Series pitching sensation Mo'ne Davis, four-time World Cup-champion skier Lindsey Vonn, Basketball Hall of Famer Ann Meyers-Drysdale, and among others. In the last 40 years, the number of females participating in sports has nearly doubled, with two out of every five girls today choosing to play sports, according to the Women's Sports Foundation. The documentary discusses reasons why some girls aren't playing sports, as well as increases the awareness and conversation about the participation of women in sports.

Last evening, CSN Philadelphia hosted a TOMBOY symposium hosted by Drexel University's School of Sports Management. The event, hosted by Emmy–Award winning anchor Amy Fadool, consisted of a sneak preview screening and panel discussion featuring Deborah Slaner Larkin, Chief Advocacy Office, Women's Sports Foundation; Tina Sloan Green, co-founder, Black Women in Sports Foundation; Lara Price, Senior Vice President, Philadelphia 76ers; Dr. Ellen Staurowsky, Professor, Sport Management at Drexel University; Dr. Sommer Hammoud, Surgeon, Rothman Institute Sports Medicine Surgeon, and Director of Rothman's Female Sports Medicine Program and Dr. Benjamin Braslow, parent and coach of 11-year old multisport athlete Brooke Braslow.  The Q&A was facilitated by CSN Philadelphia's Sarah Baicker. 
 
As part of this event, and in conjunction with the TOMBOY initiative, Comcast Senior Executive Vice President David L. Cohen presented a $50,000 donation to the Boys & Girls Club of America to be used to purchase sports equipment for children who attend the Boys & Girls Clubs. Lisabeth Marziello, Chief Executive Officer Boys & Girls Club of Philadelphia, accepted the contribution.

Philadelphia Union announce 2017 broadcast schedule

CHESTER, Pa. (Feb. 21, 2017) – Philadelphia Union today announced their 2017 Major League Soccer broadcast schedule, with all 34 of the club’s matches available live, on local and national television. A total of four matches will be featured on local broadcast television via 6abc, with 20 matches on The Comcast Network (TCN) and five on Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia (CSN). The Union are also slated to be on national television five times in 2017, appearing on ESPN four times and FS1 once.

Union supporters can catch the club on 6abc in four marquee fixtures: Saturday, April 22 vs. Montreal; Saturday, June 24 vs. D.C. United; Sunday, October 15 at Chicago; and Sunday, October 22 vs. Orlando on MLS Decision Day.

Additionally, the club will be on national television for the following games: Friday, April 14 vs. New York City FC (ESPN); Sunday, June 18 vs. New York Red Bulls (ESPN); Sunday, July 2 vs. New England (FS1); Sunday, September 17 at New York Red Bulls (ESPN); and Sunday, October 1 vs. the defending MLS Cup champion Seattle Sounders FC (ESPN).

Philadelphia begins the 2017 campaign by playing at Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Sunday, March 5 (TCN / 9:30 p.m. ET) before returning to Talen Energy Stadium for the 2017 home opener on Saturday, March 11 against Toronto FC (CSN / 4:30 p.m. ET).
