Phillies @ Marlins: 4.13

Phillies @ Marlins: 4.13

Corey Lidle 0-0 vs. Dontrelle Willis 1-0, 1:05 PM.

To keep you busy: Rocky spoof;  Watch highlights from yesterday's Phillies game including ESPN's #1 Webgem of the day "Stop. Drop. and J-Roll"

Wayne Campbell, "Game On!"
-Bad joke by Harry the K about the Phillies having to take the "D-Train" home if they lose.  ouch.  Polanco and Micheals are in the SL.

Top 1: Dontrelle Willis looks sharp as he puts down the Phillies in order: J-Rol, Polanco, and Abreu all ground out.  Willis almost hit Abreu with 2 straight pitches.
Bot 1: Lidle got behind Pierre but got him to ground out.  Great bunt by Castillo and a throwing error on Bell gets Castillo over to third.  Bell probably shouldn't have made a throw.  Marlins take 1-0 lead on Sac Fly by Cabrera to Burrell.  Delgado hits a rocket grounder which Polanco makes a great play on to end the inning.

I might switch banks because Citizen's Bank has the worst commercials ever.

Top 2: Burrell Ks on a BIG Wiff.. that ball would have gone to the upper deck where he hit one two nights ago.  Thome Ks.  13th all time in Ks I believe.  Jason Micheals grounds out; Another easy inning for Dontrelle.

Bot 2: Pop out to Abreu; Conine hits a shot to center but Michaels makes a nice little grab; Easley is playing SS today.. works the count full and then hits a SHOT to left HIGH off the wall.. only gets a double.  Treanor the backup catcher hits an RBI single to left to put Florida up 2-0.  Willis Ks.

Top 3: Bell leads off with a K.  Third strikeout for Willis.  Lieberthal grounds out to short.  Lidle Ks. Willis' 4th K.

The Phillies can't seem to get anything going with their bats today against Willis.  2-0 Florida.

Bot 3:
Pierre grounds out to Polanco.  Castillo pops out to Burrell.  Cabrera flys out to Abreu.  Pretty boring game so far.  Maybe the Phillies can get a hit in the 4th and wake me up a little.  Lidle is pitching OK, but Willis is just lights out.

Top 4: Basehit Jimmy Rollins!  Bloop single to center.  Polanco hits a week grounder to Lowell.  1 Out; Rollins to second.  Abreu takes the count to full, then fights a few off and finally grounds out.  Burrell Ks to end the inning.

I gotta go..

Well, the Phillies lost.  Dontrelle Willis pitched a phenomenal game.  I guess the Phillies are taking the "D-train" home back to Philly.

NBC Sports Philadelphia announces Michael Barkann’s new role long

Philadelphia, PA (April 25, 2018) – NBC Sports Philadelphia announced today that Michael Barkann, the venerable day-one voice of the network, has been elevated to primary host of all pre and post game shows.

As the network seeks to further cultivate its relationship with Authentic Fans, Barkann will focus on anchoring Sixers, Phillies and Flyers programming, in addition to his Eagles responsibilities.

Throughout the nearly 21 years of the network, Barkann’s duties have included hosting “Philly Sports Talk” (formerly Daily News Live), specials - including championship parades, and of course, “Eagles Pregame Live” and “Eagles Postgame Live.”

“Michael has changed the way Philadelphia sports fans watch and interact with their teams, making Eagles Postgame Live a must watch for all Eagles fans,” said NBC Sports Philadelphia President Brian Monihan. “We are thrilled that he is bringing his same level of passion and knowledge to our highly-rated Flyers, Phillies and Sixers pre and postgame programs.”

“It has been my honor to bring “Daily News Live/Philly Sports Talk” onto the air 20 plus years ago, and help it grow to become a daily staple of Philadelphia sports,” said Barkann. “I now have the opportunity to bring fans closer to the games they love by hosting the pre and postgame programs. I am excited for, and appreciate this opportunity.”

Catch a special tribute to Michael Barkann on “Philly Sports Talk” on Thursday, April 26.

The network also announced today that Amy Fadool and Marc Farzetta will be the permanent co-hosts of “Philly Sports Talk.” The duo began hosting the show on Fridays earlier this year. Fadool has been a fixture on NBC Sports Philadelphia since 2009, as a host, anchor and reporter. Farzetta, a long time behind-the-scenes member of the NBC Sports family, is best known for his role on WIP’s “Angelo Cataldi & The Morning Team” show.

“Philly Sports Talk” airs Monday through Fridays from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. on NBC Sports Philadelphia. The network’s pre and postgame shows air prior to, and immediately after all Flyers, Phillies and Sixers games airing on NBC Sports Philadelphia and NBC Sports Philadelphia+, and all Eagles games.
