So the Phillies fell short on a comeback attempt last night against the Braves despite Cole Hamels getting a career high 12 Ks.  He was on fire early, striking out 12 of the first 15 batters.  But things unraveled much like they usually do for the Phils and Hamels gave up a big inning that ended up costing him the game.  Utley and Howard continue to produce.  Chase's hitting streak has reached 24 games which is the longest in the Majors this season.  Howard bashed his 32nd HR.

Cole's start was impressive with flashes of brilliance.  Hamels is only 22 years old, hopefully when he is mature, at like 23, he will be able to put together entire games without falling apart.

So the Phillies lost to the Braves which is pretty much standard issue around Philadelphia.  But if you head on over to the Phillies website in hopes of finding news of a blockbuster trade you will be disappointed, but you can see they feature a piece on MEATLOAF instead.  Meatloaf was not only at the Phillies game on Friday, but the Phillies actually link to "Meatloaf.net Official Fanclub."

The four game Braves series came to an end with one rain out on Saturday.  The Phillies didn't get swept and only lost two games and remember two out of three ain't bad!
