Quotable: At least this new Union coach is a fan of the real Philly sports

Do you see what I did there?

For real though, most of us are pretty unfamiliar with John Hackworth's interim replacement over in Chester as the new head coach of the Philadelphia Union. His name is Jim Curtin and he's a bonafide Philly sports fan. Ryan Bright has plenty more on him. But I'd like to hear more about his wedding:

“We have the most passionate fans in the league, I believe,” Curtin said. “I’m a Philly fan as well. My wedding revolved around 4th-and-26 with Freddie Mitchell, so I know what goes on there. I was at the Matt Stairs home run game in L.A. and I barely got out of Dodger Stadium alive. I know the ups and the downs. I was at the Joe Jurevicius game, where he’s still running. The tough moments, you know. Eric Lindros getting knocked out by Scott Stevens, I was at that game.”

So he knows the good and the bad. Hopefully he can bring a bit of the former to PPL Park one of these days.
