Adam Eaton Gets Wrong Adam Eaton's Check

Thought you've heard the last of Adam Eaton and his 3-year deal worth $24 million? Well we certainly thought we wouldn't be hearing from the former Phillies hurler. Turns out, he's still getting big old checks. Well sort of. Adam Eaton got his checks. But not that Adam Eaton.

Big League Stew writes about a funny mishap that accidentally sent former Phillie Adam Eaton's Union licensing checks to Arizona Diamondback's prospect Adam Eaton. The kid was like, "Whoa, I'm rich!" Except he wasn't.

As it turns out, the tale also involves former Phillie Cody Ransom!

Teammate Cody Ransom happened to see Eaton flipping through the
checks and realized what had happened. We'll let Eaton tell the story:

"Cody's like, 'Those aren't yours,'" Eaton recalled. "I'm like, 'What
do you mean they aren't mine? They're in my name.' He goes, 'That's the
other Adam Eaton. Do you live there?' It had the address on the front.
'No.' I go, 'Do I have to give them back?' He's like, 'Yeah. You have to
give them back.' I thought it over and I'm like, 'Yeah, I've got to
give them back.'"
