Temple adds Georgia Tech to future home-and-home series

Temple football has added yet another ACC program to a future home-and-home series.

Temple will face Georgia Tech for the first time in program history in a home-and-home beginning in 2019.

The Owls will host the Yellow Jackets on Sept. 28, 2019, at Lincoln Financial Field. The series heads to Atlanta for the final match on Sept. 20, 2025, at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

Georgia Tech is the fourth ACC team to agree to a home-and-home series with Temple. Temple added a future home-and-home with the University of Miami on Aug. 3.

"We talk about dominating our recruiting footprint, which is obviously Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C.," Temple head coach Geoff Collins said in a statement.

"My experience in the SEC and the ACC makes Georgia and Florida very important areas for recruiting as well. That's why the Georgia Tech and Miami games are integral parts of establishing our national presence for Temple football."

The other two ACC programs on Temple's future schedule are Duke and Boston College.

Temple, which won the American Athletic Conference championship in 2016, has 18 non-conference games against Power 6 teams through 2028, and at least one game against a Power 6 team scheduled in each of the next nine seasons, beginning with Saturday at Notre Dame (see story).

The Owls also have future home-and-home series scheduled with Oklahoma, Maryland and Rutgers.
