It has been a bad, bad week and a half at Boston University, but at least they got to have a great meal at their dining hall.
On Jan. 28, Boston University’s Dining Hall laid down the gauntlet with this Twitter bet with Temple University.
So @TempleDining for our #SuperBowl wager. When the #Patriots win you serve our New England Clam Chowder to the students at @TempleUniv & if the #Eagles win (haha) we'll serve ur Philly Cheese steak to the @BU_Tweets students. This way #Philly can taste some good food for once!— BU Dining Services (@BUDiningService) January 28, 2018
They even backed it up with some smack talk a few days later.
Hey @TempleDining just checking to make sure you're practicing.— BU Dining Services (@BUDiningService) February 1, 2018
It's "Clam Chowdha" and Brady is da man" not "is the man" . We want to make sure your students get the full effect of Boston Clam Chowdha when you serve it up after the Pat's win Sunday!#BUDiningWager
…and again the morning of the game.
We all know who had the last laugh.
There’s no time for the grocery store today, that’s why we @amazonprimenow you those tissues for after the loss tonight. Keep your clams, we are going to send you a link to order all Wiz you’ll need for those cheesesteaks! 🧀 #FlyEagelsFly https://t.co/JCRhDrXxAV— Temple Dining (@TempleDining) February 4, 2018
Yesterday was the day, cheesesteaks were served. They look pretty good, too.
In addition to having their favorite football team losing to the Eagles, also the nickname of rival school Boston College, Boston University lost in hockey to Northeastern University last night in the finals of the Beanpot Tournament, 5-2. Northeastern’s starting goalie is Cayden Primeau, Keith’s son and a recent seventh-round pick by the Montreal Canadiens.
We’ll take a wiz wit, hold the tears.
