Foles asked for the Philly Special, Pederson said, ‘Yeah, let's do it'

The legend of the Philly Special just got another chapter to it.

Thanks to the microphones of NFL Films, we now know it was Nick Foles who first called for it when walking over to Doug Pederson prior to the insanely gutsy fourth-down play call.

"Philly, Philly?" Nick says.

Pederson's face lights up.

"Yeah, let's do it," Doug responds.

I got goosebumps hearing it.

The rest is Eagles history.

We got a sample of the full show that will air on Inside the NFL tonight at 9:00 PM on Showtime. Never set a DVR so fast in my life.

The Eagles also shared a longer version of the play with added conversation. "I was feeling it," Foles said after.

If you want to read more about the gutsy play call, we wrote about it on Sunday.

"That's just something we've been working on, and Doug and I were talking," Foles said. "I was like, 'Let's just run it.' It was a good time, and the end was a little wider than I thought so I was like, 'I really need to sell like I'm not doing anything.' And it worked. Trey made an amazing throw, right on the money. I just looked it in and yeah, we've ripped it for a while, so I was excited to get to run it in the Super Bowl."
